Lieutenant General Marcos Affonso Da Costa, Force Commander of United Nations Stabilization Mission in Congo witnessed the Multinational Joint Medal Parade organized by Pakistan Army, held at Pakistan Army Contingent Headquarters in Democratic Republic of Congo. Pakistan Army being one of the largest troops contributing country in UN, for the first time in UN history, organized the multinational Joint Medal parade for the award of United Nation’s Medal in recognition of the services and humanitarian efforts rendered by the peacekeepers.
15 member Afghan media delegation visited GHQ and met General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS). Speaking at the occasion, COAS said media can act as a bridge to create conducive environment for promoting cultural / social and people to people engagement between the two countries.
Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) successfully ensured recovery of stranded crew members of Merchant Vessel SUVARI H during conduct of joint assistance operation south of Karachi. PMSA’s Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre received the report that Merchant Vessel (MV) SUVARI H which had sailed from Kandla, India for Bossasso, Somalia got stranded approx 180 Nautical Miles south of Karachi alongwith 18 crew members onboard at sea.
