    Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has expressed his satisfaction over the pace and manner of Army’s deployment for maintenance of law and order in the country for the forthcoming General Elections, strictly in accordance with the dictates of constitution . He was heading a high level meeting in General Headquarters, which under took a detailed overview of Military’s deployment.

    free medical camp was established at Arkot by Pakistan Army. In total 843 Patients were treated and provided free medicines in the medical camp. Security Forces also distributed relief goods and ration items among the effected people.

    A Strategic Missile Group (SMG) of the Pakistan Army’s Strategic Force Command (ASFC) today conducted successful training launch of Ghaznavi (Hatf III) Short Range Ballistic Missile. The launch was conducted at the conclusion of annual field training exercise of a Ghaznavi Missile Group. With this launch, ASFC also concluded its highly successful winter collective training, wherein, various Missile Groups conducted firing of live ballistic missiles under realistic operational environment. This was the third consecutive test by ASFC Troops in recent weeks. Earlier two other SMGs had conducted successful launches of Shaheen-1 and Ghauri ballistic missiles. The Ghaznavi Missile has a range of 290 km.

    A spokesman of ISPR has denied a news report appearing in a section of press that a serving Brigadier went missing mysteriously between Darra Adam Khel and Badher on Monday. There is no truth in the news, spokesman concluded.

    Team of Lahore Corps won the exercise " Team Spirit" which was held at Jari Kas near Mangla. Team of Rawalpindi Corps was declared runner up of the competition. Lieutenant General Sajjad Akram, Corps Commander Mangla who was chief guest on this occasion witnessed the exercise and distributed prizes among the participants. Major General Sardar Mehmood Ali Khan, Director General Military Training was also present on this occasion.

    A spokesman of ISPR has strongly denied a news item appearing in a section of the press on Saturday stating that militants attacked a Toll Booth near Kohat Tunnel and kidnapped some troops. The spokesman stated that neither any booth was attacked by militants nor troops kidnapped.
